About Double A Armory
Founded on February 18, 2019, Double A Armory proudly serves as Independence, Iowa’s hometown gun shop. Owner Adam Michels, a dedicated supporter of the Second Amendment, opened the store to provide local residents with a reliable, nearby source for firearms and ammunition—eliminating the need for a long road trip to make a purchase.
After 35 years working as a machinist, Adam combined his passion for armory and machinist to help everyone from first-time buyers to seasoned firearm owners find exactly what they need.
On any given day, you’ll also meet his supportive wife, Alison, the other “A” in Double A Armory, Benji and Peaches, the beloved "Bad Ass Dogs of Double A Armory," who keep watch over the shop with tails wagging.
